January 21-23: WIB Week

Women in Business has recently held its recruitment week, also known as “WIB Week”. This week of recruitment members included a virtual information night, member mixer, and painting night. These events allow prospective members to meet current members and learn more about our organization. Thanks to our VP of Recruitment, Macie Julian for helping plan such a great week!

February 10: Mocktails & Bingo Social

Women in Business recently hosted its first social event of the Winter semester, led by our Director of Social Events, Ashley Aksun. We held a mocktail and bingo night where players had the chance to win prize baskets and enjoy a variety of drink options.  Thanks to Ashley for planning such a fun night!

February 11: Rose Sale

"Flowers for Funds" was the first WIB fundraising event of the Spring Semester. This was an excellent way for WIB members and other ISU students to help support the organization. Single roses and mini bouquets were being sold to help raise money. This event could be used to count towards Members Small Fundraiser point. Many thanks to our Director of Fundraising, Carlee Harmon, who planned a great event!

February: New Members Meetings

This semester, the newly accepted members of WIB got the chance to get to know eachother better at three new member meetings. On February 4th, an info and goal setting night was held. On the 11th, a speed socializing event was held. Finally, on Feb 18th, was the WIB professional etiquette night.  Thanks to Kara Walsh, Director of DEI for these great nights!

February 13: Share the Care

Women in Business held its first service event of the year. Members had a chance to donate toiletries such as toothbrushes, shampoo, lotion, bandaids, and much more. Members got to use the donations to build “care kits” which will be donated to the COB’s Wellness Shelf and local churches. Good job to Alison Walsh, Director of Service Events, on her first event!

February 21: Country Financial Tour 

For the first corporate sponsor event of the semester, Women in Business was invited to attend a tour at the Country Financial offices, one of our sponsors. Attendees got to hear from an employee panel and then were shown around the office building. Thanks to our VP of Corporate Relations, Mia Chaudhry for coordinating this great opportunity!

March 4: DIY Lipgloss Keychain Making Social

March's first social event was a DIY Lipgloss Keychain social event! Members could bring there own lipgloss or pick one out and design their own beaded keychains. This was a super fun event, and a great way for mentors and mentees to meet up before spring break. Thanks to our VP of social events, Ashley for planning a great night!

March 19: March Madness Spiketacular Fundraiser

Every year, WIB organizes a large fundraising event to raise money for charity. This year, our Director of Fundraising, Carlee Harmon, planned a  volleyball tournament. WIB members and other RSOs joined to to compete in support for Mental Health America. The fundraiser also included a raffle table. Thanks to all the teams, committee volunteers, and Carlee for making this wonderful event happen.

March 21: Paws & Pucks

Women in Business teams up with the Humane Society to work at the Bloomington Bison game! WIB members were in charge of handling adoptable dogs, running the concession stands, and manning the HSCI information tables. This was a great event and a fun way to give back to the Bloomington-Normal community! Thanks to Alison Walsh, our Director of Service Events for your hardwork in organizing this event! 

March 25: Women History Month Panel 

For the second corporate sponser event of the semester, WIB hosted three speakers to talk about their experience as women transitioning into the workforce. Our speakers represented Growmark and Enterprise. Thank you to our speakers on giving us insight advice on their experience! And thanks to WIB VP of Corporate Relations, Mia Chaudhry for planning this great night!

April 1: Tote Bag Painting

Women in Business hosted its Marketing Week social event recently. Ashley Askun, our Director of Social Events planned a great night of tote bag painting. WIB members got to sit down listen to music and use acrylic paints to decorate tote bags. This was a great night and gave girls a chance to destress and do some crafts! Thanks to Ashley for planning this great event!

April 5: Lunch + Conversation

The final event of the 2025 Marketing Week was WIB's annual Lunch + Conversation. This is an event where WIB members invite alumni, family, and friends to come together to share their experiences. This event is about honoring and learning from them inspiring women in our lives. Thank you to our Vice President of Marketing, Angelika Campbell for planning a great week and an amazing event.

April 14: Financial Planning for College Students

Women in Business's final corporate sponsor event was hosted recently. Matthias Pope, a lead advisor from Dill Wealth and Northwestern Mutual, came to discuss how college students can begin financial planning. Congratulations to Mia Chaudhry on her last event as VP of Coprotate Relations!

April 15: Free Seasonal Swap & Share

For the Spring Semester's final service event, WIB hosted a professional clothing swap. WIB members and the ISU Share Shop donated clothing to be included in our free sale. Girls could earn points by donating or working the event. Congratulations to Alison Walsh, our Director of Service Events for her great work this semester!

August 25-28: WIB Week

Women in Business recently held its recruitment week, also known as “WIB Week”. These four days of recruitment included an information night, trivia night, scavenger hunt, and a crafting event. These events allow prospective members to meet current members and learn more about our organization. Thanks to our VP of Recruitment, Carlee Harmon for helping plan such a great week!

September 16th:
Krispy Kreme Fundraiser

The Krispy Kreme Fundraiser was the first WIB fundraising event of the Fall Semester. This was an excellent way for WIB members and other ISU students to help support the organization. Fresh Krispy Kreme donuts were being sold to help raise money. This event could be used to count towards Members Small Fundraiser point. Many thanks to our Director of Fundraising, Delia Garcia, who planned a great event!

September 24th: Toss for a Cure Fundraiser 

Every year, WIB organizes a large fundraising event to raise money for charity. This year, our Director of Fundraising, Delia Garcia, planned a bags tournament. WIB members and other RSOs joined to to compete in support for breast cancer awareness. The fundraiser also included a raffle table. Thanks to all the teams, committee volunteers, sponsors, and Delia for making this wonderful event happen!

September 25th: PJ and Movie Night

Our first social event of the semester was a pajama and movie night! Members could come in their comfiest pajamas and watch a fan favorite, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Snacks, candy, and sodas were also provided! This was a super fun event, and a great way for mentors and mentees to meet up for the first time. Thanks to our Director of Social Events, Marin Shane, for planning a great night!

September 26th: Growmark Office Tour

For the first corporate sponsor event of the fall semester, Women in Business was invited to attend a tour at the Growmark office, one of our sponsors. Attendees got to hear from an employee panel and then were shown around the office building. Thanks to our VP of Corporate Relations, Nicole Binda for coordinating this great opportunity!

October 15th: Craft and Connect

For our second social event of the fall semester, Women in Business hosted a "Craft and Connect" night where members could show off their creativity by painting canvases and connect with other members. This was a great opportunity for mentors and mentees to get to know each other and paint a picture for one another! Thank you to our Director of Social Events, Marin Shane, for organizing such a successful event!

October 28th: Goals and Goodies

For our second corporate sponsor event of the semester, Women In Business hosted four professionals to share their advice on goal setting and how to overcome obstacles along the way. Members engaged in insightful conversations and had the opportunity to network with the panelists afterwards. Our Vice President of Corporate Relations, Nicole Binda, did a wonderful job organizing another successful event! 

November 3rd: Pilates Social

For our last social event of the semester, Women in Business hosted a pilates social event for members to relax, connect, and focus on personal wellness. This event allowed members to build connections and unwind in a positive, health-focused environment. Thank you to our Director of Social Events, Marin Shane, for planning another great event!

November 11th: Cocoa and Connections

For our last corporate sponsor event of the semester, Women in Business hosted four professionals to answer questions surrounding coffee chats. Members got to hear how to set up coffee chats with professionals and network productively. They also got to engage with panelists afterwards about the industries that they specialize in and their current positions. Our Vice President of Corporate Relations, Nicole Binda, planned another successful and meaningful event!
