Letter From Our President

Sidney Ropp
2023-2024

Welcome, all!

It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the website for Women in Business at Illinois State University. My name is Sidney Ropp, and I am the President of Women in Business for the 2023 - 2024 school year. I could not be more grateful and excited to have the opportunity to represent such an amazing organization within the State Farm College of Business here at Illinois State. I firmly and wholeheartedly believe in the values of this organization and am so proud of each of every one of our members.

If you are unfamiliar with Women in Business, our organization was founded in 2015 with an emphasis on creating a Registered Service Organization within the College of Business that would allow business-oriented female students to connect with one another and establish a sense of community. We host weekly meetings and workshops in which our 150 members can learn from industry professionals and build their networking skills. Our members also engage in service opportunities that benefit a wide variety of important philanthropies as well as social events that allow our members to grow closer with one another and develop lifelong friendships. Our success in just eight years as an organization is evidenced by the vast number of awards and recognitions that we have received, including recognitions as College of the Business Large RSO of the Year for six years and Illinois State University RSO of the Year on two different occasions.

If you are an Illinois State University student interested in becoming a part of this blossoming organization, our recruitment season begins this August after students return to campus. Come visit us in the residence halls, Bone Student Center, and College of Business during the first week of classes, or check out our social media for information on how to get involved! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me personally or any other members with any questions at all; we are so excited that you are interested in being a part of Women in Business! Similarly, if you are looking to partner with Women in Business in any capacity, please reach out to me or a member of the Executive Board, as we are eager to discuss any potential partnerships! Thank you so much for your time and your interest in Women in Business. I cannot wait to see what this school year will hold!

Truly yours,

Sidney Ropp
